Pentest Limited – Boycott your bed
On Friday 9 July, Three of the Pentest Limited team took part in Boycott your Bed, spending the night in the most unusual place they could think of to raise funds for Action for Children / Byte Night Scotland to help children and families go to bed dreaming of a safe and happy future.
What is Boycott your Bed?
Action for Children helps disadvantaged children across the UK, from before they are born until they are into their twenties. They help them through fostering or adoption – and by intervening early to stop neglect and abuse.
They asked to join forces with family, friends or colleagues to raise money and spend the night in the most unusual place you can think of. Wherever you sleep, the money you raise can help make dreams of a safe and happy childhood come true. You could rough it in the garden, pitch a tent under your table, or bunk down in the bathroom.
On the night, all participants were invited to join a virtual live-streamed event. This was jam-packed with fundraising fun, famous faces and interactive activities to keep everyone entertained. Normally they would have taken part in the big sleep out on behalf of Byte night Scotland but due to covid restrictions, this event was cancelled.
Clare Cavanagh, David Quinn and Mitchell Bradley raised £568, as part of SWG’s Fundraising company benefit, the group gave a contribution of £300, which brings their total to a whopping £868.
For most of us, summer means happier times ahead. Doing the things we love again. Maybe even getting away from it all. But for children and families already in desperate need, this crisis has made things even worse. For them, there’s no end in sight.
